Happy New Year to all my lovely crafty community peoples.
I hope you have all had a lovely holiday break and those of you who celebrate the season with gifting got lots of lovelies from friends and family.
I scored four lovely vintage hardcover Agatha Christie collection books from Mr Vintage and our youngest Miss Vintage. They know me so very well.
I have been obsessively reading since and not a lot of knitting has been done...
I know it's not actually winter here, but to kick of the New year I'm going to make this little number, featured in the January 1936 issue of Good Needlework and Knitting magazine.

Don't you just love the buttons! I could totally see Hercule Poirot's Miss Lemon all buttoned up in this one!
Knitted in 4ply (fingering) on old UK no. 8 (modern 4mm) needles, this one should be a reasonably quick knit to kick off the year.
Sadly we have a few weeks of over 40 degrees celcius forecast here in the Riverina, so I won't be wearing my version any time soon. On the bright side, it's been deemed too hot for previously scheduled fieldwork for my day job, so there'll be lots of office fluffery happening in air-conditioned comfort with bonus points for extra knitting time.
Now..... what colour? Oh darn, I may have to do some browsing of the post christmas yarn sales.....
If you'd like a look through the entire edition, I've just uploaded a flip through to the Vintage Vault playlist on my You Tube Channel.
