I strive  to create and offer meaningful, eco-friendly & sustainable products.

I use recycled/up-cycled/reclaimed packing and postage materials wherever practical.

The only sweatshop here is me in my home studio knitting away through the heat of the Australian summer.

By using vintage materials where available, the majority of materials I use for the creation of my items are already exist, so there is no need for production of new materials (particularly plastics) in the supply chain.

To further lower my carbon footprint, for delivery of your order I have sourced biodegradable mailers, recycled paper products and fully home compostable packing tap from right here in Australia.

Shipping

Domestic Shipping

I ship via Australia Post.

Orders of ready-made items are shipped within 3 business days.

​

Made to order item production and shipping times will vary depending on the size of your order and availability of materials.

​

Any additional timings are provided in individual item descriptions.

International Shipping

I do ship to select countries via Australia Post services.

​

All postage costs include tracking.

​

If your country is not listed, please email vintagemegknits@gmail.com for an international shipping quote.

Customs Fees

Please note that international packages may be subject to customs, duties or other fees that are calculated by country.

 

As these fees vary from country to country and are subject to change, these costs are not included in the item or shipping costs.

 

The customer is responsible for paying any and all customs duties and fees where applied by their country. 

Returns & Exchanges

Excahnges

I want you to love your handmade item as much as I have loved creating it for you but if you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, I do offer exchanges for similar items to the same value by arrangement.

Items must be unworn, in the same condition that you received them and in the original packaging and postmarked within 14 days of receipt of your order. 

We do not accept returns for change of mind and sale and discount items are considered final sale.

​

If 14 days have gone by since receipt of your order and you have not made contact to arrange return of the item, unfortunately I can’t offer you an exchange.

​

Damaged or Wrong Item

If you’d like to exchange your item(s), received a damaged or wrong item, please contact us using the form on this site.

​

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item.

​

Shipping costs are non-refundable.

​

Lost or Stolen Packages

Once an order has been deposited with Australia Post, I no longer have control of the package. As such, we are not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen packages. 

​

I am happy to reach out to the postal service for you however, please contact your local Post Office first for these rare instances/situations, as they often require the recipient to lodge a claim if your parcel cannot be located.

Please keep in mind that unless I source new yarn, options are limited to what I have in my "stash" or can find in local vintage or thrift stores.

Do you take custom orders?

Handcrafted Disclosure

Every piece you see here has been lovingly handcrafted in my home studio.

Each and every piece, even those created to the same pattern, is truly a one-of-a-kind creation and not factory manufactured.

​

Thank you for understanding that handmade goods are never perfect in the way factory made assembly-line products are.

​

Small imperfections, differences in shape, size and color can happen and are part of the charm of a handmade product.

​

These are not flaws but rather imperfections that make each piece unique and beautiful and will never affect the overall aesthetic of my items or the ability for their use as intended.

Your Privacy Matters

It makes me really cranky when anyone sends me unsolicited emails or other spammy junk, so I definitely won't be doing this.

Email contact is limited to my Vintage Yarns Newsletter should you choose to subscribe  and information required to arrange a custom creation or track  Handknit Store purchases only.

I definitely won't be sharing your information with third parties, other than what is necessary. For example, information provided to make payment for purchases and arrange shipping.

The payment providers that have been chosen to handle your transactions, PayPal and Stripe, each have detailed privacy policies of their own which I adhere to and you may wish to view prior to purchase.
