Knit by hand using the same vintage Daphne yarn specified in the 1940s pattern. 



This close fitting light Woolen knit features a scooped neckline and short cap sleeves that flutter at the top of the armhole. Great as an everyday top worn either by itself or over a lovely vintage shirt or dressed up with an elegant brooch and worn with a skirt  or your favourite 40s/50s skirt or trousers to a party or a night out on the town



The top can be worn with or without the small handknit shoulder pads (included). 



The lower hem of garment is designed to sit just over the hip and has a tapered waist for a lovely neat fit.



The original 1940s pattern was written to fit a 34 inch bust , however I am able to size this top up or down a little without compromising style.  For reference the garment worn in the photographs has been sized to fit a 40 inch bust.



Current sizing available includes:

AU size 6 (32 inch bust)

AU size 8 (34 inch bust)

AU size 10 (36 inch bust)

AU size 12 (38 inch bust)

AU size 14 (40 inch bust)

AU size 16 (42 inch bust).



If in doubt or your measurement is between to sizes please purchase the next size up. For example your bust measurement is 39 inches, choose AU size 14 then send me your preferred bust and length measurements in either inches or centimetres at checkout (see personalization).



Vintage Colours available (in limited supply) are cherry red, dark grey and navy (navy is the colour worn  in the listing pictures). Prices vary according to size requested due to different amounts of yarn and time  required to create you original hand knit top.



Hand knitting is a slow process and I won't necessarily have a garment already knitted in your exact size.  Please allow 3 weeks for creation and dispatch of your hand knit garment. 



Delivery times from point of dispatch in rural NSW Australia will vary depending on your location.

Washing instructions:



Hand wash or gentle machine wash in cool water. 

Dry flat in shade. 

Do not use Bleach.

Do not  Tumble Dry. 

Fabric may be pressed lightly with a cool iron.
